How we use the information you give us through this website.
Who we are
Surrey Auto Service & MOT Centre, Unit 2.1, Bessborough Works, Molesey Road, West Molesey, Surrey KT8 2QS, is responsible for your personal information under UK data protection law. You can contact us at office@surreyautoservice.co.uk or on 020 8054 6045.
What we collect
- MOT bookings: your name, email address, phone number, vehicle registration, make and model, the date and time you choose, and any notes you add.
- Enquiries: your name, email address, and if you give them, your phone number and vehicle registration, plus your message.
- Security: a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, used only to stop spam and misuse of our forms.
Why we use it
- To arrange and carry out your MOT, send your confirmation and a reminder, and contact you about your booking. We do this to provide the service you asked for.
- To reply to your enquiry. This is in our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us.
- To keep our website secure. This is in our legitimate interest in protecting our systems.
We don’t use your details for marketing, and we don’t sell them.
Who we share it with
Your details are stored on our website hosting provider’s servers and sent by email through our email provider. They act on our instructions only. When your vehicle is tested, the MOT result is recorded with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), as the law requires.
How long we keep it
- MOT bookings: personal details are removed 24 months after the appointment date.
- Enquiries: removed 12 months after we receive them.
We may keep records for longer where the law requires it, for example for accounting.
Cookies
The public pages of this website don’t use cookies or tracking. Our staff admin area uses one essential cookie to keep staff logged in. Links to Google Maps take you to Google’s website, where Google’s own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to limit its use. Contact us using the details above. We’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
